My background is in the physical aspects of electronics and telecommunications (Master Degree at the University of Liege in Belgium) . I also have a degree in finance and accounting (MBA style) from the same university.

I started my life in systems management as a Tivoli certified consultant and trainer in 1997, in particular on Tivoli Distributed Monitoring and Tivoli Enterprise Console. At the time I was working with IT Masters (acquired by BMC in 2003) which already had service support integrations and service-centric operations at the core of its strategy.

I have been working close to the "cell" technology and its solar system since its beginning in the late nineties. Since then  I have pretty much accompanied the cell (aka BMC Impact Manager) technology through its booming life, providing consulting services and education worldwide, as a consultant and lately as the product manager for the entire suite, dealing with strategy, architecture and driving R&D. In this last role I have among other things ensured the certification of BMC Event Manager as enabling the ITIL event management process. See here for other documents I have created.
The cell technology is now at the heart of the BMC Service Assurance strategy, and is included in the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management platform and BMC Atrium CMDB.
